We met Mike and Ali in Thunder Bay in Canada when we went to North America. We had stopped at a Borders bookshop to replenish books and parked in an empty huge car park. When we came out of the shop we saw a motorhome parked right next to us, almost making it impossible to open our side door!
After Jon going off on one 'All the car park and they had to park 6 inches from our van, can't they drive etc etc' we looked at the number plate and saw it was English! So we waited for their return (from Borders too) and found out they came from 10 miles down the road from us in Norfolk and that they were travelling West to East - the opposite way to us. We had a great couple of days with them before we set off again and have remained in contact and good friends ever since.
They are currently (2008) back in the USA for another year practicing their parking hopefully.
