Jon started motorhoming when he was an infant with his parents in their Bedforf Dormobile. He and his brother spent 6 weeks every summer holiday touring Europe visitng as far North as the North Cape (a real adventure back in 1970), Greece and in 1972 a trip to Moscow and Leningrad in the Bedford. When he left home he started camping in tents and as a craving for a soft bed took over bought a Motorhome in 2002. This van - a Frankia - took Linda and Jon all over Europe - back to the North Cape, east to west across Canada and West to east back across the United States as well as up to Iceland and though the old eastern block states of Rumania, Bulgaria Serbia and Croatia.
Franki served us well on our trips and despite many gravel and dirt roads, streams and floods always got us trhough with little problems. However we decided that we wanted to go furter outside Europe and eventually around the world in a van and decided Franki would not be the ideal van to do this in - we've cracked the windscreen twice on trips, grounded on various roads and thought a more robust vehicle was called for.
